Sarah spoke with Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg MP at a Q&A session held with members of the French party allied to the Liberal Democrats, the Mouvement Democrate (MoDem), including its leader Francois Bayrou and MoDem MEP for the Ile-de-France region Marielle de Sarnez, with whom Sarah sits in the ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats) group in the European Parliament. Other MoDem MEPs present were Jean-Marie Beaupuy and Nathalie Griesbeck. Sarah's fellow London Lib Dem Euro-candidate Dinti Batstone, who has done a lot of work with the Modem London group, also joined them.
Sarah said: "The Liberal Democrats are the only British party with a truly European outlook and this meeting further strengthened our ties with our French colleagues from MoDem, demonstrating that working together in Europe is the best way to achieve our goal of a fair and liberal society. The shared energy and vision of our two parties, demonstrated by both Nick Clegg and Francois Bayrou, promise great things for Liberal and Democrat values in the European elections in June. Modem supporters who are not intending to vote in France can vote Liberal Democrat here in London on June 4th as long as they register on the electoral roll and complete form EC6 by May 19th. See here http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/register_to_vote/eu_citizens_form.aspx where it is all explained - easy!"
