BORIS Johnson faces calls for a reduction or freeze in Tube, tram and bus fares after cuts in train ticket prices were announced.
Prices are set to drop by 0.4 per cent on overland services in January, meaning thousands of commuters will benefit from cheaper travel.
Tube, bus and tram fares are set by the Mayor through Transport for London (TfL).
They increased by an average of 6 per cent in January.
Caroline Pidgeon, chairman of the London Assembly Transport Committee, said: "With prices falling by 1.4 per cent in July, the Mayor should not hesitate to Âannounce that fares will at least be frozen in 2010."
A spokesman for Johnson said: "He will take all factors into consideration to set out a fair and affordable package."
