Caroline Pidgeon AM, Leader of the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Group and transport spokesperson, commenting on today's report to the Transport for London Board that the Jubilee Line upgrades will now drag on until Christmas and possibly to April 2011 said:
"This is dreadful news after the many months and years of weekend closures that have already occurred.
"The upgrade of the Jubilee Line is turning into a case study of exactly how not to upgrade the tube and lessons must now be learnt.
"There is now overwhelming evidence that short term blockades of short sections of the underground would be a far better policy so that passengers and businesses don't have to suffer endless disruption."
